The characters of Miisufy are animated as cut-out puppets in Blender. This allows to have complex patterned designs while keeping a possibility to animate elements of the puppet frame-by-frame.
The characters are composited into the background using After Effects. I may also create an empty area radiating from the characters to bring them out more.
